Section titled “Translated text”One scout has their eyes tightly blindfolded, and a small flag is stuck into the ground about 10 paces away from them. The blindfolded scout must not know where the flag is. The others stand scattered around at a distance of several dozen paces. Absolute silence is required. The scout designated by the patrol leader approaches the flag stealthily, avoiding any noise,

in order to pull it out and carry it away to a distance of 10 paces. Whoever succeeds earns a mark. The blindfolded scout listens intently and follows every sound; if they hear something, they stretch out their hand in the appropriate direction and shout: «Stop!». The patrol leader decides whether the observation is correct and either corrects it, and the game continues, or orders the one who was detected to step back, and the next scout begins to sneak forward. After each successful attempt, the listener is changed, and the flag is placed in a new, unknown location.
If there are more players, several can be instructed to approach simultaneously, but from a distance of 10–15 paces from the flag, only one should approach, as it is otherwise sometimes difficult to determine who actually made the rustling sound.
The exercise works equally well on smooth ground as on ground covered with twigs, leaves, pebbles, etc.; one can walk, crawl on all fours, or slither; it is also possible to set a time limit for reaching the flag.
