Section titled “Translated text”A game played by schoolchildren in some towns of Mazovia; its application is as in the previous game. Children dig as many holes in the ground (spaced half a step apart) as there are participants. These holes lie in a straight line, and each can fit a ball. Then, each player chooses one of the holes and stands beside it. The best players (“mothers”) stand at both ends, selecting the outermost holes. One of the mothers starts the game by rolling the ball along the holes toward the other mother. If the ball does not stop in any hole, the other mother takes it and rolls it back similarly! If, however, the ball stops in a hole, its owner grabs the ball and aims at the fleeing companions running in all directions. If they miss everyone, a small stone (shaving 1, etc.) called an “egg” or “child” is placed in their hole. If they hit someone, the hit player takes the ball and tries to hit someone else, and so on, until someone misses. Then, one of the mothers restarts the game. The game continues until one of the players accumulates the agreed-upon number (e.g., 10) of “eggs”; then, the “execution” follows (as in the previous game).
