Section titled “Translated text”The fox glides on skis. Wherever it encounters more ski tracks, it drops small scraps of colored paper. Fifteen minutes later, the hounds set off in pursuit of its trail. The fox zigzags, finally hiding in a den from which a convenient escape is possible. There, the hounds catch up to it, flush it out of the den, and try to corner it. Whoever touches it with their hand kills it.
It is important to skillfully choose the fox’s route. This route should lead through varied terrain with difficulties adjusted to the scouts’ age and skiing abilities. It should not be precisely marked out, as that would overly restrict the fox’s freedom of movement; instead, an area should be designated where it is allowed to roam. This terrain should be chosen so that its layout forces the trackers into various, more or less difficult, skiing maneuvers.
A stronger skier is chosen to play the fox.
