Straight Ahead — Crosswise
Translation details
Model:mistral-large-2512.Translated text
Section titled “Translated text”The patrol sits in a circle. Several among them are initiated into the secret of the game. The patrol leader hands 2 pencils to the neighbor on the right, saying: “straight ahead”—or “crosswise”—depending on whether, while sitting, they have their legs crossed one over the other (“crosswise”) or placed side by side (“straight ahead”). However, they pretend as if it depends on the special arrangement of the pencils when handing them over. The neighbor must pass the pencils to their own neighbor in turn, saying “straight ahead” or “crosswise.” They will, of course, make mistakes, observing others, especially the initiated, until finally, everyone figures out what determines the use of one of the two terms. The patrol leader should specify each time whether the correct phrase was used when passing the pencils. Scoring is based on the patrol leader’s observations.
