Approaching the Camp (Creating a Tale Against the Backdrop of Polish-Tatar Wars)

Section titled “Translated text”We post sentinels from half of the participants around a small flag representing the central point of the camp. Sentinels may not stand closer than 100 paces from the flag, and from each other at distances ranging from 20 to 30 (depending on terrain cover). The more open the terrain, the greater the distances between sentinels must be. Sentinels should be positioned in such a way as to allow the possibility of sneaking into the camp (for greater youth satisfaction). Sentinels must not change their positions; they must conceal themselves well and see everything. A spotted enemy is considered killed. Those sneaking in approach the camp from various directions. Assign specific sectors to individual groups. In this way, after the game ends (set a time limit and give a signal to finish—preferably one warning signal, and after 10 minutes, a second one to close the game), we can verify whether a given sentinel truly saw a particular infiltrator. A point is scored for their side by: a) every infiltrator who sneaks in unseen, b) every infiltrator who spots a hidden sentinel, c) every sentinel who notices and recognizes an infiltrator. Infiltrators may be detected by several sentinels or may themselves be seen by several sentinels.
These approaches must take place in silence. There should be no pursuit, shouting, or other noises. In the event of mutual sighting, the infiltrator is free to change their position (without changing their sector), and the sentinel may change their hiding spot. Such encounters are not scored.
