Section titled “Translated text”Social games exercise memory, wit, and mental agility, and are perfectly suited to dispelling boredom and inappropriate conversations on rainy days, whether in the scout house or at a social gathering. In camp, they make the post-lunch leisure hour more enjoyable and help forget fatigue in the evening.
In Secretary, the patrol leader or instructor, acting as the game’s director, distributes sheets of clean white paper to the participants and instructs everyone to write one question on their sheet. The sheets are then folded in quarters and handed back to the instructor. The instructor thoroughly mixes them in a stiff hat, cap, or suitable container and passes them around the table for participants to draw. If someone draws their own sheet, they may exchange it. After all questions have been distributed, the writing of answers begins. Each person writes the most appropriate answer possible on the same sheet and returns it to the instructor. The instructor then shuffles the sheets again and reads the questions and answers aloud. After reading, the sheets are torn into pieces and discarded. For example: Question: Why is Scout X lost in thought? Answer: Because he is worried about the fate of the Turks. This game has the advantage of being played without forfeits.
