The King
Translation details
Model:mistral-large-2512.Translated text
Section titled “Translated text”A game for urban and rural children from certain regions of Lesser Poland, Mazovia, and Podlasie, suitable for elementary schools. The “King,” chosen by drawing lots, stands aside. The rest of the players secretly agree before the king on what actions they will mimic in front of him, then approach and say: — Good day, King! — The King replies: Good day! — Where have you been? — (e.g.) In the garden. — And what were you doing? (Here, the children mimic the previously agreed-upon action, such as digging, weeding, chopping wood, swimming, or the like. The King names the action; if he guesses correctly, everyone runs away, pursued by the King. The one caught becomes the King in the next game. If the King does not guess, the game repeats with the same roles.
