Section titled “Translated text”Scouts sit around a table with sketchbooks and pencils in hand. The most dexterous or cleverest draws a head or object with thick, unconnected strokes, arranging the lines in such an unusual sequence that for a long time it is impossible to recognize what the drawing is meant to represent. Each of those seated peers over the shoulder of their partner to the right and copies the drawing one line at a time. When the first person finishes the drawing, everyone compares their drawings with the original. Illustrations from the book Mit Blitzlicht u. Büchse by T. Seton are exceptionally well-suited for this game.
A more difficult variation of this game is when each person at the table draws the head of their companion.
Another variation of this game exercises wit and sharpness when each person draws a caricature of their companion.
