Section titled “Translated text”All scouts, except for one patrol, formed the garrison in a certain town or village for defense.
On roads, passages, and in easily traversable places, guards were prudently stationed.
One of the garrison scouts, chosen by lot as the traitor, inspects the guard posts and tries to memorize the less guarded spots, then slips away unnoticed from the village to meet the enemy patrol. Naturally, the enemy’s position must be communicated to him by the judge at the moment he is selected as the traitor.
The traitor attempts to lead the enemy into the center of the town through the previously identified spots. He guides them either in pairs or in groups of three beyond the guard line, or orders them to follow him in Indian file. If a guard touches one of them, they all go into captivity.
