Section titled “Translated text”Show the scouts a series of photographs or drawings of objects from the immediate vicinity or from a village they have passed through. They should immediately recognize these objects and describe the place where they saw them. Here is an example series of photographic objects: a wayside shrine, windows of unusual shape, a weathercock on a church, a distinctive gate, a house with a porch or balustrade, an orientation tree, a roadside statue, a reflection in water (identify the reflected object), etc. Award marks for the greatest number of recognized photographs.
A variation and complication of this exercise will be the order to sketch all those peculiarities they passed during the last excursion.
